2009 ICFF
OUR MISSION:

To represent West Coast Design with an award winning booth at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York City. Our installation will use the Wunderkammer, or Cabinet of Curiosity, to explore the migration of objects and concepts through design culture. Reclaimed and reconstructed cabinets, trunks, and chests of drawers will fill our sideshow tent. These outdates and mismatched cast-offs from San Diego consumers may seem at odds with a conference devoted to the new, but will in fact act as a mirror or microcosm of ICFF. The cubbies and drawers reflect the hundreds of booths at the fair, each featuring an installation, original object, or luminescent curiosity.

PLEASE SUPPORT OUR ENDEAVOR:

On Saturday, April 18th from 6-9pm, San Diego’s Design Within Reach is hosting a fundraiser and silent auction to get SDSU to ICFF. The event will include a silent auction with donated art and furniture pieces from such contemporaries as Tommy Simpson, Po Shun Leong, Bob Brady, Gail Fredell and Judy McKie. SDSU alumni, Jason Schneider, Lynn Szymansky, Mary Donald, Shawn Goodell, Dave Fobes, and Heather McCalla will be contributing pieces, as well as current grad students and faculty. Rockler Woodworking and Hardware has also donated some power tools that will also be on the silent auction table. The event will feature a hosted bar and refreshments. This event is open to the public but space is limited. Please email WENDYMATT@SDSUFURNITURE.COM to have your name added to the guest list.
